Vermont’s sole congressional seat is open and we want you to be part of the process. Vermont Statewide Independent Living Council (VTSILC) and Vermont Center for Independent Living (VCIL) are holding a congressional forum on Tuesday, July 26 from 1:15-2:45pm at the Capitol Plaza (also via zoom), followed by a celebration of the 32nd Anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act from 3:00 – 4:00pm. Doors open at 1 pm.
Questions around disability justice have been solicited from folks and will be compiled prior to the event. Esteemed journalist Peter Hirschfeld will be moderating and asking all of the questions. Due to time constraints there will be no audience participation in person or via Zoom.
After the forum there will be appetizers, speakers, presentation of the Deborah Lisi-Baker Youth Leader Awards and cake in celebration of the 32nd Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act!
You must register in advance for this meeting whether you are attending in person or via Zoom: https://tinyurl.com/VT32ADA. There will be interpreters and live captioning at the event. Questions? call Linda at 802-224-1819 or email: Lindam@vcil.org
