DEAF INDEPENDENCE PROGRAM COORDINATOR
37.5 hours per week.
The Deaf Independence Program Coordinator works with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals and groups statewide in Vermont; advocates for changes in state laws and policies to improve equal access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals; has knowledge of Deaf Culture; possesses computer skills, including the ability to do research; has familiarity with statewide community resources to include human services agencies, government agencies and nonprofit organizations; and the ability to communicate concepts related to independent living and Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals’ rights.
Candidate must have the ability to work independently but also be willing and able to work as part of a team. Some statewide travel may be required.
Rate of pay: $16.50 per hour plus a generous benefit package including 15.50 holidays per year, 2 weeks' vacation once accrued and increases with years of service. 10 sick days per year, 3 personal days per year. Health insurance, dental, vision, life, short/long term disability. HRA account of $750 annually. Occasional 403b contributions when voted by Board.

Deaf Independence and Community Outreach Specialist
30 hours per week
The Deaf Independence and Community Outreach Specialist works with Deaf, Deaf/Blind and Hard of Hearing individuals or groups in Vermont to empower them and increase their ability to live as full and equal members of their communities. This Peer Advocate Counselor (PAC) will also participate in outreach activities to increase community options and supports for independent living and systems advocacy work.
Candidate must have the ability to work independently, but also be willing and able to work as part of a team. Some statewide travel may be required.
Rate of pay: $16 per hour plus benefits, including health, dental, life, and paid time off.
