Vermont Voters with Disabiltiies:
  • We want to hear your story about voting. Is your polling place accessible? Did you encounter a barrier when voting? Why to you vote? Email your story to sdwhap@vcil.org.
  • Email us your story of using the Vote by Phone at the Polls system to sdwhap@vcil.org

Special Information for Nursing Home Residents:
  • You have the right to vote!!!!!
  • If you have moved to a nursing home and you did not previously live in the town the nursing home is- you need to register to vote with your new town clerk if you want to vote in the upcoming election. Check with the Administration staff at your nursing home and ask if someone at the facility can register you to vote.
  • Absentee Ballot: All towns will send you an absentee ballot, but you need to request one. Call your town clerk and he/she will send you a form to request an earl or absentee voter ballot. If you need the phone number for your town clerk contact the Vermont Center for Independent Living at 1-800-639-1522 or go to http://vermontelections.org/elections1/town_clerks_guide.html for a complete listing.

  • Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center: TBA
  • Bennington Health & Rehabilitation Center: TBA
  • Centers for Living and Rehabilitation: TBA

  • Nursing Home Administrators: Call Sarah at 1-800-639-1522 to schedule a VCIL Voter Registration Day at your facility.
